The International Symposium on Sustainable Forest Management will be held in Beijing on 25-27 September 2008. The symposium is the kickoff event of Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) and is co-organized by Australia and China with the support from U.S .A and TNC. The Symposium will bring together government officials, senior scientists and experts in the region, representatives from the private sector, international organizations, regional organizations, as well as NGOs.

The 4th Forest Dialogue Forum of China on "Forests and Climate Change"

The Fourth Meeting of Forest Dialogue Forum took place at the International Bamboo and Rattan Tower 2008 in Beijing and focused on the roles of forestry in the mitigation of climate change. The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet), as one of the organizers, attended this Forum. Some sixty experts attended the forum from government agencies, civil society organizations and international organizations.

The establishment of Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation endorsed by the 15th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting

The establishment of the Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet), proposed by China and co-sponsored by Australia and the United States, was agreed by the 15th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in September 2007 in Sydney, Australia and was incorporated in the Sydney APEC Leaders’ Declaration on Climate Change, Energy Security and Clean Development.
